Get Rid of the Google Search Redirect Virus
Now, Once and For All!

I’m sure my story is not uncommon – let alone the tearing of my hair from my head. I was at the end up my rope with this bugger…  As a matter of fact, I would be willing to wager you may have made the same mistakes I did.  I was about to pull my hair out, completely – then throw my computer out the window. Why is it that I consider myself to be cautious when it comes to visiting websites, but often enough get ransacked by some stupid virus. These virus writers are getting tricky – to say the least.

Well, times did not change when I got slammed by the Google Search Redirect Virus. If you’re here, you know what it is, and you want to know how common people like us can remove it. If you’re anxious and impatient, jump to the end for the solution. If you have a second, or a minute, read below so I can share my new found sage wisdom and help you from making these same stinking mistakes. I created this blog and website with the help of a friend to share my story with everyone and maybe – just maybe – prevent one other person from doing the same things I did…

Mistake #1 – Hired a “Geek” to remove the virus

My first mistake was to go down to the local big chain store and give my poor, broken down, and impossible to use computer to some Geeks. First thing the guy says to me, “you should upgrade to the newest version of Windows.” I told him everything I use works perfectly fine on Windows XP Pro. I keep my anti-virus up-to-date, and don’t have too many problems – except now. He insisted I upgrade so this wouldn’t happen again. Well, I know computers enough to steer clear of what these guys are selling.

After 5 days and spending about $150, they offered to reformat and reinstall the latest version of Windows for an additional $200. So, I could spend $350 to get my computer updated to a new version of Windows, but this still wouldn’t solve the fact that I had a hidden virus (or a trojan horse virus) on my computer. Needless to say I left, with a hole in my wallet, but my computer still intact (maybe not my pride).

Mistake #2 – Hired a “Friend” to remove the virus

My next mistake was to save a couple bucks and ask my friends if they knew anyone who could help me get a virus off my computer. My buddy recommended a good friend of his named Tom. Tom was good with computers, but not so good with social skills. He said he would charge me $100 an hour, or it would be free if he couldn’t fix it.  How could I pass this up? Well, all started off great. Tom told me about a tool called Malwarebytes for removing things like I was infected with. It removes “malware” which is bad programs that run on your computer.

Here’s what came up when Tom was working his magic…  Yep, confirmed that little bugger was in there and playing around my computer without an invitation.

Tom tinkered with my machine for about an hour, then said he had to take it home with him to work on it further. I told him I wasn’t willing to pay more than $100, but wanted to have it fixed, desperately. I think he could sympathize with me about the “Geek” mistake and he wanted to one-up the big box squad on getting my issue resolved. 3 days later, Tom called and delivered the good news – sort of. I wouldn’t have to pay a dime because he couldn’t fix it!!!  So, here I am, about 2 weeks from being able to use my computer fully, and stuck without a single clue on what to do next.

Mistake #3 – Bought software online to remove the virus

My last mistake was trusting an ad I found while using my iPhone to search for the “Google Redirect Virus” and how to remove it. I also tried things like “Browser Redirect Virus” and “Search Redirect Virus” – all ended up on the same site. The website looked legitimate, and I felt comfortable because they had a ton of great reviews from people all across the globe. It looked simple enough, cost a fraction of what all the other guy’s charged me to remove the virus, so I bought it – hook, line, and sinker.  Problem was, this was just another piece of garbage that created more advertisements, pitched more software that was “required” to remove the original virus I had hoped to remove, and lastly, made my computer run slower than ever before. Ugh!!!! Can you smell the smoke pouring out of my ears by now?

I’m not going to say who it was, but let’s just say I sent them a heated letter, dropped a quick note to RipOffReport.com and headed out the door to slander their company name at the top of my lungs after stepping outside.

Revelation – Solution was right under my nose, sort of…

My friend’s friend  Tom came to the rescue.  After getting beat up and not being able to remove the redirect virus from my computer, he did some research. Tom had found a couple free tools that helped get rid of some of the virus, but not all of it.  He said he stumbled on a guy who was infected, just like me, but had skills to make some computer magic happen.  This guy, Richard, wrote a program that would actually, with verifiable integrity, remove the exact virus I was infected with. He offered a money back guarantee, and really no strings attached. Well, let me say Tom was quite convincing of the whole thing. He told me if this product didn’t remove that nasty bug, that he would not only get my money back from the software author, but that Tom would pay me back for the Geek mistakes (giving me an extra $150!!!).  That did the trick. If this thing didn’t work, I would be back to having money in my pocket, and Tom would probably help me build a new computer anyhow.

So, I went to the website, was prepared to fork out a hundred or more for this miracle software, and found that it was less cost than anything I had already come across. I was able to instantly download and install this piece of software. I’m not a computer novice, but the install was really easy and simple to follow. Off to a good start so far.

The tool ran its scan, ripping apart the nasty virus in front of my eyes. I had to run and grab a beer to celebrate what looked like sure victory – but I was still cautious to not get my hopes up. Anyhoo, the tool ran for what seemed like a long time, so I left to go catch the evening news. After the news, and a couple beers later, I came back to the computer and found that the program had eradicated that nasty beast and claimed it had done so SUCCESSFULLY!! Again, I was still highly doubtful that it had gotten rid of it.

Well, the secret’s outta the bag now, it worked perfectly. I was now able to use my computer the same way I did before that stinky little junky piece of garbage arrived. So, how do you get this wonderful, life saving, little gem of wonder? Use this link, and it will take you right to the page of the guy who hooked it up for me. The cost was minimal, and it gets downloaded to you immediately – and securely. Again, it works great, the cost was right, and it saved me from losing all my data and upgrading to a new computer.

If that link doesn’t work, please let me know and I will see what’s going on. As of the time I sent this, all was working fine.

Best of luck to you!
